BLINK LEVELS are badges evaluating your level of experience and references.
That's right, your membership will give you a badge called BLINK LEVEL which will be stamped on your CV CARD.
The levels advance automatically as the criteria above mentioned explained progress up to level number 8 "veteran". You can get a high badge with either your own references attached or your sailing experience. Levels 9 "sky" and 10 "genesis", on the other hand, are prizes and can only be awarded by our company to the most deserving seafarers according to our company criteria.
You might have recently updated your profile, or have received a positive reference from a previous employer (the “YACHTBOOK reference”) and your criteria have progressed, allowing you to earn a higher level.
BLINK LEVELS tend to increase. They may decrease if you lose the job longevity requirement following some short-term shipboard jobs. In any case, this should not worry you as you can recover by increasing other criteria.
Levels 9 "sky" and 10 "genesis" can only be assigned by our company. Probably from one of our surveys we have found out your work performance is very positive and comply our protocols of merit, so we have rewarded you!
You do not have to worry! You are probably very young or have recently entered the yachting industry. The BLINK LEVEL is not a value indication of your professionalism as a seafarer, this can be very high despite having a low level. A low BLINK LEVEL states you need to gain more experience in the yachting industry.
No! Employers have different needs: most of the times they prefer young people to older ones or even a non-expert person to train from scratch instead of a veteran. In addition, more experienced candidates have much higher salary demands. You have the same ship boarding chances as the other members of the portal!
In the CV CARD there is a gray table with a key of the fundamental criteria of your level and the employer will be able to evaluate your position immediately.
A new reference might not be enough to achieve your next level, try to get and attach further references in order to improve your BLINK LEVEL.
In this case, the criterion based on the years on shipboard jobs considers a maximum credit of 4 years, entitling you to the Silver Level, which is a good badge. BLINK LEVELS are based on reference and experience in the YACHTING sector and it would be unfair to grant higher initial levels to seafarers from a different sector. Therefore, an attempt was made to mediate by recognizing level 4 SILVER to seafarers coming from commercial ships. This badge identifies a person with an excellent nautical experience but who must orient himself in a new sector that may not even meet his expectations.
